OUR TEAM

Warren Male - Manager

Warren Male launched Coromandel FM in December 1992, and for 15 years the station has been the voice of the Coromandel. Warren’s successful formula of meaningful local news, local information and a great music variety has delivered a 24 hour on air programme of interest to the 52,000 potential listeners as well as the 200,000 plus who return each summer!!. Warren lives and breathes the passion of local radio and his involvement extends to 36 years in broadcasting.

Mark Smith - Breakfast Announcer

Mark has fronted most peak time radio shows on many metro radio stations. Mark has spent more than 24 years in radio and is ranked as a solid, professional and dedicated radio presenter.

Andy - Anouncer / Writer

One man, many strings to his bow. Andy, Auckland bred and trained, has slotted easily into the role of Mr Do-It-All. He hosts a very well received drive show, including the popular FVC 5@5, does weekend radio shifts, covers for other announcers when they’re away, writes some awesome ads, and interviews some of the best national and international artists, including Newton Faulkner, The Feelers and Hollie Smith. Andy’s future looks very bright, and he’s also the best looking person on station. (He made me say that last part).

Alan Beagle - 10 - 2 Announcer

Alan joined Coromandel FM in March 2007 after some years away from a fulltime on-air role; he was first an announcer at 1XX, Whakatane in his late teens and then at Radio Waikato, Hamilton; several years at Auckland's 1ZM and Radio Hauraki was followed by becoming a founder shareholder of NZ's first stereo radio station 89FM and later working for Magic 91FM. He's a keen current events, sport and business news follower and will happily enjoy music from Sinatra to The Dixie Chicks but still can't really get the rap/hiphop message!

Drew - News Editor

From a background in TV news in the 1980s, Drew moved to radio in 1991 starting in the Waikato and then to Auckland in the mid 90s. Drew has a background as an announcer, writer, audio producer, TV cameraman, soundie, editor and director. Coming to the Coromandel to settle down with his family, Drew joins CFM as news editor and presenter. Drew's hard commentator style softened considerably over summer but as summer ended moved Coromandel FMs news style back to a more straight solid news focus.

Caleb - Creative Director and Copywriter

Caleb- Raised in the mighty Nuhaka, Caleb has been mad on radio since he was 10. His first job was at 89FM Gisborne when he was just 13, and over the years that followed he hosted radio shows, did production, and wrote ads all over the country, including two and a half years at TRN Taupo. In December ‘07 Caleb made the very smart choice to join the creative team at Coromandel FM and is absolutely loving it. Caleb spends his spare time having fun with his beautiful fiancée and niece, cheering on the Hurricanes and following the NBA.

Alex Johnson - Production Engineer

Since 2003 Alex has recorded advertisements for the Coromandel FM client base. Born in Barnstaple, England and arriving in New Zealand in 2002, Alex has the creative brain which is necessary in order to to produce the best radio commercials. Alex’s favourite football team is Tottenham Hotspurs (of course)

Bronwyn Burkhart - Account Manager - Client Services

Bronwyn has quickly developed as a very competent and "results" focussed sales consultant. With her outgong personality and friendly attitude, Bronwyn has grown a substantial client list with happy customers all over the Coromandel Peninsula. Bronwyn is always ready to develop a sales proposal for your next sales promotion and is keen that you achieve the expected results.

Tanya Bradford - Account Manager - Client Services

Tanya- The other half of Coro’s Angels, Tanya is a lean, mean selling machine. Tanya prides herself on not just selling airtime to a “client”, but building a friendship with each business so they are dealing with a “friend.” Tanya’s personal touch has delivered results to many happy clients.

Janette Parke - Office Manager

Janette- Her title is “office manager”, but only because “person who does all the accounts, chases outstanding debts, exports commercials, does weather checks, keeps station fridge stocked and generally does it all” wouldn’t fit on her business card. She captains the station from the front desk, and when she’s not keeping all the young creative lads in line, she’s cheering (often very loudly) for the best team in football history, the mighty Arsenal. (Sorry Alex, but the Spurs are no match for my team).

Schell - Office Assistant

Schel originally hails from the Waikato and is well used to radio, operating the boards for her brother (Drew) at Easy Listening i in Hamilton when she was only 5.
